William Nylander has finally broken his silence on his new contract after it was officially announced by the Toronto Maple Leafs today.

#Leafs make it official. 8X$11.5m for William Nylander.
The deal has been speculated on for the entire season but ramped up in the past few days as the deal inched closer to the finish line. Now, Nylander has opened up about playing in Toronto and hopes to win a cup and retire as a Leaf.
Nylander says «the ultimate dream» would be to win a Cup and retire a Maple Leaf.
Brad Treliving's Expectations For William Nylander Have Gone Up
The deal is a massive one, making Nylander one of the highest-paid players in the NHL right now. Whether or not he is actually worth this much is one debate, but Brad Treliving doesn't want Nylander to change his game, just continues to evolve into it. He notes that the expectations will rise for Nylander given the pay raise.
Treliving says they don't want Nylander to change anything but feels he has room to continue to evolve: «To whom much is given, much is expected.»
As for if Nylander is capable of improving, his teammates have full faith in him. Captain John Tavares thinks that Nylander is built to play in Toronto, given his carefree attitude and fervour for the limelight that is given in Toronto.
Tavares on Nylander living up to the deal and playing in Toronto: «I don't know if I've ever met anyone who has the confidence like him. I mean that in the best way possible.»
Nylander, who is on a hot streak this season with 54 points in 37 games, will look to continue his success and hopefully hit 100 points for the first time in his career.
