Report: Matvei Michkov Wants to Play for One NHL Team and is Pushing to Make it Happen
It's hard to predict the order of the draft for a simple reason: Matvei Michkov. On paper, the Russian player should be drafted 2nd overall, right behind Connor Bedard.
However, the situation in Russia complicates things.
Some people even think he won't be taken in the top five!
According to recent reports, Michkov already decided where he wants to play and his making a push in that direction.
Michkov with Ovechkin?
The website Russian Machine Never Breaks shared the news yesterday: Michkov wants to play in Washington.
If he has the power to decide where he's going to play, he'll likely chose the Capitals.
Russian report says Matvei Michkov most likely to be drafted by Capitals: "You'll see"
The Capitals hold the 8th overall pick and if he's still available there, it would be surprising to see them pass on him.
They showed in the past that they aren't afraid of drafting Russian players and chances are they'll do it again this year.
