Creed Jones played for three different teams in the QMJHL throughout his junior career before he went on to play college hockey with the University of Ottawa.
He spent the majority of his time in the league with the Gatineau Olympiques however, where he played 64 games across three seasons. It was the Olympiques who confirmed that Jones had passed with a statement made on their official X account. (all posts have been translated from French)
Fans immediately reached out to share their condolences with Jones, his family, and the team. One fan shared a picture of the young goaltender playing in a match against the Quebec Remparts.
The Sherbrooke Phoenix, also of the QMJHL also shared their condolences in response to the news, a nice gesture from a rival team in the league.
Jones also appeared in 24 games with the Rimouski Oceanic and five games with the Saint John Sea Dogs throughout his QMJHL career. In total, he posted a record of 27-47-8. He had two shutouts, both coming with the Rimouski Oceanic in the 2019-20 season. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Creed.
