The 2024 Paris Olympics could not finish without another controversial moment, as just hours before the closing ceremony, a shirtless man was arrested for climbing the Eiffel Tower.
Hardly any sports fans watching the 2024 Paris Olympics would describe it as the best athletic event in the world, being characterized more by controversy than generational talents. With unchecked bullying on Imane Khelif, bouts of triathlete illnesses, and accusations of racism involving Jordan Chiles, all viewers want is an end to the madness with a simple closing ceremony.
However, fans were yet again met with distress, as one man took it upon himself to scale the Eiffel Tower on the day of the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony. Authorities were forced to close and evacuate the building before arresting the man.
While this man will undoubtedly be met with a sense of heroism among some on the internet, whatever jail time he faces for wasting police resources may not prove worth it, in the end. However, he will always remain a part of the mess that was the 2024 Paris Olympics.
