The Boston Bruins and starting goalie Jeremy Swayman still have not worked out a contract for this upcoming season but today Jeremy Swayman spoke about the process.

The Boston Bruins have endured a lot of turnover in the past couple of seasons. The loss of veterans like Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci due to retirement as well as several trade and free agent losses. This summer the Bruins decided to part ways with former Vezina winning goalie Linus Ullmark in a trade with the Ottawa Senators.

After trading away Linus Ullmark the path was cleared for the Boston Bruins to make Jeremy Swayman the starter next season. The only problem now is that Jeremy Swayman remains a restricted free agent without a contract. Today he spoke to the media about his future with the Bruins.

With negotiations still ongoing between Jeremy Swayman's agents and the Boston Bruins time is starting to run out. Fans and media are starting to worry that the two sides won't be able to agree on a contract by opening night. In a new interview with Bruins television broadcast partner NESN Jeremy Swayman tried to calm some of those worries.

There's a lot of confidence (it'll get done), he said during an interview with NESN. "I say that because I've treated it like business as usual this year. ... I've been working out with our guys, our staff, our players, and I know that there's something special building in this locker room this year.

Jeremy Swayman continues on to say that he couldn't be happier to be a Bruin heading into the future. In the present though Jeremy Swayman continues to control what he can to improve for his team heading into the upcoming season.

I can't be more excited about that. I know that it'll take care of itself with time, and all I can do is control how I'm gonna be a better goalie for the Boston Bruins this year. That's all I'm focused on. It'll work out. I couldn't be happier to be a Bruin.

Last season will be tough to out do for Jeremy Swayman after he posted an impressive 2.53 goals against average and a 0.916 save percentage. He will now head into his second full year as the starter looking to find a way to take yet another step forward. At just 25 years old the future of the Boston Bruins runs through Jeremy Swayman and they would be wise to lock him up long term before he becomes even more expensive.
