The Calgary Flames have decided to throw an offer to Toronto for Nylander after a very disappointing season on the offensive end. Since a contract may not get done between Nylander and the Leafs, Calgary have decided to jump on his possible availability.

The most consistently rumoured trade offer for Nylander consists of a dual package of defenseman Noah Hanifin and fellow top-6 forward Mikael Backlund. Hanifin has been voicing his opinion of leaning to a change in scenery and Backlund would definitely benefit from playing on lines with the young and flashy forwards that the Leafs have, so this could be a offer that Brad Treliving should definitely consider and think through.
