The cost of Calgary Flames Noah Hanifin is revealed
While many Toronto Maple Leafs fans hoped to see their general manager Brad Treliving bring Noah Hanifin on the team's blue line ahead of the deadline, it could be more complicated than it looks.
The price to get the defenseman has been revealed and it's almost confirmed that the Leafs won't be able to make it happen.
The Price to Acquire Noah Hanifin From the Flames Has Been Revealed and It's Too Much For the Maple Leafs
The Flames will want at least a first-round pick for the defenseman. However, with the current state of the market, where a lot of teams are looking for defensive depth, we could see a bid war between organizations like the Canucks, Red Wings and Lightning.
Hanifin, who could bring a lot to a team with defensive struggles like the Leafs for the playoffs, likely won't end up in Toronto.
Hanifin Would Be An Ideal Fit For the Leafs: Should Treliving Pay Whatever It Takes to Get Him?
The fifth overall pick in 2015 has great defensive skills, and brings a significant offensive contribution. This season, in 53 games, he tallied 29 points, including nine goals.
The Leafs don't have a lot of assets to throw away for a player on the last season of his contract. However, if he comes with a contract extension at a reasonnable price, sending a few picks and players could be an interesting investment for Treliving.
Do you think Hanifin will be traded to the Maple Leafs?
