The Carolina Hurricanes have been great in the regular season the past few years, but have struggled to make a deep playoff push, and now, significant changes could be on the way.

Who's rumoured to be on the move?

While they've not made many big moves in the off-season thus far, Carolina have landed Michael Bunting, but with connections to other star players, they may need to move a star or two of their own out to make room.

The latest rumour sees Carolina potentially moving Tuevo Tervainen, who has been one of the teams most consistent players since arriving in 2016, scoring 362 points in his 479 games played with the team.

According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the Hurricanes have talked to some teams about Teravainen, and at just 28-years of age, he is a great trade chip as he has proven production with time left in his prime.

Who could this move be for?

Unsurprisingly, many have now linked this move to their pursuit of Erik Karlsson, and while the Pittsburgh Penguins are still hot in pursuit, potentially moving Teravainen to take on Karlsson's contract could ultimately be the move that lands them the big defensive star.
