Carolina Hurricanes claimed Spencer Martin off waivers
Elliotte Friedman shared breaking news a few minutes ago. The Carolina Hurricanes have officially claimed the goaltender Spencer Martin from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Drafted 63rd overall in 2013 by the Colorado Avalanche, Martin played 13 games this season with the Blue Jackets. He has a 3-8-1 record, a 3.65 GAA, and a
.887 SV%.
He will join the Hurricanes, who have been struggling between the pipes this season.
The Canes are playing tonight against the Red Wings tonight, but Martin probably won't play. We should see him making his first start either Sunday against the Wild or Thursday against the Devils.
