The Carolina Hurricanes could see some major changes over the next couple of seasons, particularly in regards to restricted free agent Martin Necas.

The Hurricanes currently hold Necas' rights, but he is not under contract. Notably, Necas appears to be heading to arbitration with the Hurricanes this summer.

Salary arbitration talks often result in both sides being disappointed which can lead to the player walking away feeling insulted. Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky confirmed today though that arbitration is exactly what will be happening with Necas.

Tulsky on Necas: "As of right now he's an RFA with us, headed for arbitration where he'll get either a 1 or 2 year contract. And he'll play for us. If something happens between now and then, then that'll happen. But right now that's what I'd assume."

Of course, it is possible that Tulsky will still pull a trade out of his hat before arbitration can be completed, but that does not seem likely at this moment. That being said, the forward has been heavily involved in trade rumors this summer, so perhaps we should be expecting something unexpected. Fans around the league are certainly excited about the possibility of adding Necas to their teams.

Still no inclination of a top-six acquisition from Kevyn Adams...

... but what I can provide is this cool Martin Necas jersey swap. I won't allow the inaction to let this time & effort go to waste.

give us martin necas

Necas scored 24 goals and 53 points for the Hurricanes last season. He has 97 career goals and 243 career points in 362 games overall.
