Patrick Kane Screws Over the Chicago Blackhawks' Future
Patrick Kane should have been traded for an absolute haul. Earlier in the season, first overall pick Alexis Lafreniere was in the discussion for the veteran winger. Now, however, it doesn't look like he's going to fetch much of a return at all.
Kane has a full NMC, which means he can dictate where he wants to go. Unfortunately, he's taken too long with this decision, and his preferred destinations, such as the Rangers, have come off the table.
Kane Screws the Blackhawks Over
There is clearly some bad blood between Kane and management, and it looks like Kane will screw the Blackhawks over in his final days with the team.
Either he'll finally choose his destination and be traded for pennies on the dollar since the Blackhawks have no leverage, or he won't be traded at all and the Blackhawks will miss out on the foundational assets of their next generation.
Patrick Kane may have been the face of the franchise for the better part of two decades, but now he will be one of the main reasons their rebuild takes longer than anticipated.
It seems that Showtime won't be coming off the air smoothly.
