During last night's game, in which the Toronto Maple Leafs played against the Edmonton Oilers, there was an altercation between Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews.

The incident happened during the first minute of the second period, it started when Matthews tripped McDavid, who responded with a shove. The referee gave both of the players a two-minute penalty for this altercation.

McDavid appears to embellish a little bit, which has caught quite a bit of fan attention.

The Leafs beat Edmonton 7-4. John Tavares and Noel Acciari both scored two goals. McDavid ended the game with one goal and one assist.

Many fans expressed their opinion on this topic

This season has proved to be McDavid's best in his career. He played 66 games, averaging 22 minutes of ice time per game. He also leads the league in points, scoring 127 this season.

Auston Matthews has also had a great season. Playing in 58 games, averaging 19 minutes of ice time. Matthews has 34 assists and 30 goals. He has accumulated 18 PIMS, but has made up for this time by scoring 22 powerplay goals.

The Leafs are in a decent position to finish the season in second place in the Atlantic, they have won their last two games, giving them a four-point lead over the Lightning.

Hopefully they can increase this lead in their upcoming match against Buffalo!
