The career comparison between two of the NHL's current greatest players has arose in the fan community once again.
McDavid vs Crosby
NHL fans are trying to find a consensus on if either Edmonton Oilers icon Connor McDavid or Pittsburgh Penguins legend Sidney Crosby is the better player.
Never compare Prime McDavid to Prime Crosby again.
If Crosby wasn't injured he was scoring 140 points in a season. Now I know McDavid had 153 points but
McDavid 5 v 5 points in 2022/23: 59
Crosby 5 v 5 points in 2010/13: 89😳
Crosby is just the better player.
As these numbers show, Crosby had the best statistical prime between the two as of now, but many fans still believe that McDavid's outrageous 153 points this past season beats out Crosby in terms of being the best.
A Question That Remains Without An Answer
Despite every NHL fan having their own opinion and regardless of how similar they all may sound, we will never ever truly have a definite answer to this debate. Both McDavid and Crosby are forever going to be known for changing the sport of hockey once their careers are over, but it seems to be one will not be identified as "better overall" than the other. Nonetheless, the controversy stays alive indefintely.
