Wayne Gretzky's brother: controversial trend sparks outrage
Keith Gretzky, the younger brother of NHL all-time points leader Wayne Gretzky, has been trending negatively recently due to comments made by Oilers fans online.
Ken Holland recently stepped down as GM of the Edmonton Oilers, and Keith Gretzky, who has been the assistant GM since 2016, is the main man that is expected to take over, and fans are really not happy with this latest development.
«Again, I think Keith Gretzky can be Oilers' GM going forward. He's very smart, he's put the work in, he runs the farm team. There's such thing as rewarding and trusting people from within an organization with an advancement. Carolina did it with Eric Tulsky.»
Angry fans of the Oilers began to take to social media to voice their displeasure, which led Keith to trend online for horrible reasons. Fans really do not want him to take over the team, despite the fact that Edmonton has been one of the better, busier teams this off-season, making some great signings and really solidifying their team.
Keith has proven to many that he isn't just known around the league for being the younger brother of Wayne Gretzky, as he's done a really good job for the team since being hired back in 2016. The reason fans aren't too happy he might be taking over as GM is due to the fact that Keith doesn't appear to be fully dedicated to wanting the job, as he's never spoken out about it before.
