During his most recent press conference, Montreal Canadiens' General Manager talked about several offseason topics. One of the things that was most noteworthy from the press conference was some news regarding Logan Mailloux.
Logan Mailloux Nearing Possible Reinstatment
Logan Mailloux was set to meet with the NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to discuss where Mailloux is in his pursuit of reinstatement by the league. According to Kent Hughes that meeting has indeed taken place:
An indication that Montreal Canadiens' organization defenseman Logan Mailloux is gradually approaching the professional ranks, he met with National Hockey League (NHL) commissioner Gary Bettman in July, and a decision is expected regarding the continuation of his career. - TVA Sports
Mailloux Still Has Steps To Go
While the meeting with Bettman is progress there is no guarantee that Logan Mailloux will be reinstated in the near future. According to general manager Kent Hughes, no decision has been made yet by Gary Bettman on Mailloux's eligibility.
