With the numerous injuries to the Montreal Canadiens, including Cole Caufield, the team should theoretically drop in the standings over the next few weeks.
Who says drop says... Connor Bedard! The Canadiens have two first round picks in 2023. The team's and the Florida Panthers'.
In the last few weeks, the Panthers were slacking and were in the bottom half of the NHL's overall standings.
They are now 18th in the league and in their last ten games have won seven.
If the Panthers make the playoffs, unfortunately, the Canadiens will only have one chance to get Connor Bedard, first overall.
The goal would be, at that point, to be very bad, to be 32nd and to be the favorites for the lottery.
The Canadiens need to pick up the phone and get themselves another first round pick!
