While the Rangers managed to sweep the Capitals last night and became the first team to confirm their presence in the second round of the playoffs, Peter Laviolette, the Rangers' head coach, was visibly unhappy with Matt Rempe's performance during the game and decided to punish him.
Rempe has to take the blame for the Capitals' first goal of the game. He failed on his defensive duties, being late trying to stop a Caps' turnover and leaving Martin Fehervary alone in front of Igor Shesterkin.
