In a statement from Mercyhurst, the school says Carson, 23, was removed from the Hockey program.
The video, reportedly from March, shows Briere, and other Mercyhurst students, pushing a wheelchair belonging to a woman down a flight of stairs at a bar while she was in the bathroom.
Briere was charged with criminal mischief over the incident. The victim, Sydney, posted a Twitter statement after the incident went viral, thanking people for their support of her following the incident.
A GoFundMe was set up to support Sydney, and raised over $8,000 for the victim.
Both Carson and Danny Briere put out a joint statement, where Carson expressed regret for his actions.
It was not the first collegiate punishment for Carson Briere, who was removed from Arizona State's Hockey team for disciplinary reasons in 2019.
Briere, who was named Interim GM of the Flyers on March 10th, two weeks before the video was shared, called Carson's actions "inexcusable" in the same statement.
Carson Briere had a year remaining of NCAA eligibility before his dismissal, however, after two high profile incidents, it's unknown if he'll be given another chance somewhere else.
