In a dramatic turn of events, Flyers prospect Matvei Michkov is expected to make the push to the NHL and abandon his KHL contract that is expected to last until 2026.

During the draft process, team's hesitated to commit to the russian as a pick because of the barrier in Russia given the war and his lengthy contract, with the scary idea of him never coming to North America.
