According to Pittsburgh radio personality Mark Madden, the next GM is going to have to decide if Jake Guentzel should continue to remain with the Penguins.
«Whoever the Penguins hire to make their hockey decisions will have to broker an extension for Guentzel or trade him. One or the otherGuentzel should be in his prime, or at worst near the end of itThe Penguins can't let Guentzel walk (and bring zero return) after next season.»
Penguins fans gave their input in response to Madden's take.
Settling into his spot on the top line as the winger to the left of captain Sidney Crosby, Guentzel put up 36 goals and 37 assists this season in 78 games.
The 28 year old is currently heading into the final year of his 5 year, $30M contract.
