Former San Jose Sharks Prospect Charged With Murder
A former San Jose Sharks prospect has been charged with the murder of a 23-year-old man. Former prospect Artem Ivanyuzhenkov has been charged for stabbing the young man to death.
The incident occurred in the city of Podolsk, while Ivanyuzhenkov and his friends were celebrating his birthday. Witnesses of the crime identified Ivanyuzhenkov as the killer, but he denies the allegations.
Ivanyuzhenkov comments were translated from media outlet Aftonbladet.
"False and complete lies are flying around the internet that I committed a crime in the Moscow region in some restaurant. Do not believe unconfirmed information. I am at the training camp in Sochi for the third day. The investigation will sort everything out."
At 24 years old, Ivanyuzhenkov signed a contract with the Sharks during the 2019-2020 season, but he never played more than 2 AHL games. After spending the rest of the year in the ECHL, Ivanyuzhenkov left North America.
This is not the first time Ivanyuzhenkov has committed such a serious crime. He killed a cyclist in the Moscow area in 2020. Since he is the son of Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, who is the Deputy Speak of Russian Parliament, he was not convicted for killing the cyclist.
We can only speculate his fate until the investigation is complete.
