The NHL regular season is finally coming to an end, and as some teams start shifting their focus towards the playoffs, one team will have to make do without a major impact player in their lineup. The Tampa Bay Lightning will be without trade deadline acquisition Tanner Jeannot.
Jeannot Potentially Out Long Term
Lightning head coach Jon Cooper met with the media Monday morning to provide an update on the status of his lineup. Many hoped this press conference would bring good news, but were let down by what Cooper had to say.
It appears as though Tanner Jeannot will miss time in the playoffs due to an injury he recently suffered during a game with the Lightning. This is a massive blow to Tampa Bay, who paid a hefty price to acquire the gritty forward's services.
Lightning general manger Julien Brisebois gave up a promising defensive prospect in Cal Foote, along with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round draft picks for Jeannot. This certainly isn't how he would have hoped his big purchase would turn out, and for now the Lightning must make do without Jeannot's impact.
