A former Toronto Maple Leaf and 1,248 NHL game veteran Jason Spezza has just announced the passing of his younger brother Matthew.

It has been a heartbreaking day in the NHL as former player turned into assistant General Manager Jason Spezza announced the passing of his younger brother, Matthew.
On behalf of my family, it it with the heaviest of hearts that I share the my younger brother, Matthew, passed away due to an accidental overdose over the weekend. My family and I are heartbroken and ask for privacy during this difficult time.
