Jon Cooper Takes a Jab at Leafs Players
Jon Cooper and the Lightning didn't look good yesterday during game 2 against the Maple Leafs. It's not that they didn't play well, but the Leafs were far superior.
Cooper made a comment in the post-game press conference that raised many eyebrows. He was quite aggressive for a guy whose team lost 7-2.
Cooper Takes a Jab at Leafs' Players
Sheldon Keefe recently made the decision to place O'Reilly on the third line, creating more depth at the center position.
Jon Cooper pushed back against a question about the Leafs improving their center depth by moving Ryan O'Reilly to the third line tonight:
"Give me Point, Cirelli, and Paul all day. Against anybody in the league."
Maybe he didn't watch the same game as the rest of us. Toronto's centers played much better than the Lightning's.
In game 2, only Point scored an assist for the Bolts.
As for the Leafs, Tavares had a hat trick, O'Reilly had an assist, and Matthews got three.
The rest of the series is promising, and we can expect even more action for the upcoming games in Tampa Bay.
