Whether it be with the Calgary Flames or the Toronto Maple Leafs, defenseman TJ Brodie has always been a respected individual on and off the ice, and now, he's begun another noble venture off the ice.

A debilitating disease

Away from hockey, Brodie's wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), and while they've built a beautiful family, it's still no doubt a disease that comes with very tough symptoms.

This could no doubt make life difficult at some points, but the two have battled through with positivity and plenty of optimism, and now, they look to be spokespeople to those that deal with the disease as well.

A&W

That takes us to A&W, one of Canada's favourite restaurants, with whom the Brodie's have now officially partnerered with for Thursday for Burgers to Beat MS Day, which will take place all over the country on Thursday.

At this point, MS is a disease that's origin is unknown and comes with no outright cure, but there's ways to make it easier on families, and this Thursday fundraiser is a great way for the Brodie's and all of Canada to help and make the burden a little easier on some people.
