Last night's game had a multitude of storylines to follow, with Matt Murray's return, the Leafs' 7D/11F lineup for the second consecutive game, and the integration of six new Leafs into the team. However, one of the most underrated storylines was Luke Schenn's return to Vancouver and the level of energy and engagement he would bring to the game.
Schenn wasted no time asserting himself against his former team, showing physicality right from the start of the game. He even delivered a massive hit on his former teammate and friend, J.T. Miller, although he appeared to hold back a bit, likely due to their relationship.
Despite the possible restraint, Schenn's physicality and leadership are precisely why the Leafs acquired him. He has already demonstrated his intensity during the regular season, and it's exciting to imagine how he will perform in the postseason.
Overall, the game was packed with exciting storylines, but Schenn's return and physicality added a unique dynamic to the game.
