A couple of weeks ago it was announced that Calgary Flames defenseman Chris Tanev had been sidelined with an injury.
Tanev was considered day-to-day by the Flames with an upper-body injury. However, just like with any injury setbacks can happen and original diagnoses can be too optimistic.
Today the Flames finally provided a more recent update that confirms some exciting news for both Tanev and interested trade partners.
Maple Leafs Fans Pumped After Exciting Update On Trade Target
After missing three games with his injury a new update was provided on Chris Tanev. Multiple sources confirmed he is skating and is projected to be back in the lineup tonight.
Looks like Chris Tanev is back in tonight for Calgary. He's back skating with Noah Hanifin at a well-attended optional morning skate.

It will be interesting to see if Tanev's play in a couple of games before the holiday break influences teams' interest in trading for Tanev. Either way, rumors are likely to be heard right back up again involving the Maple Leafs and Tanev.
