The Maple Leafs should try to get Cal Foote son of Adam Foote, Cal is currently without a contract due to being apart of the 2018 Canadian team roster. He has been deemed innocent.
Foote's Career so Far
Cal Foote was drafted 14th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
He currently has 141 games played in the NHL and 19 points in that span.
Foote is a 6'5 right handed defenseman that isn't afraid to drop the gloves to protect his teammates.
A contract could look similar to what Travis Dermott signed a one-year deal at under $1.1 million.
Toronto's Potential Defence
The Leafs defense core would become more versatile with the addition of Foote.
The pairs could go something like this:
Rielly - Brodie
McCabe - Klinberg
Giordano - Liljegren
Foote
Foote could come in replace for injuries or to give the veteran Giordano a break.
Foote would be the type of acquisition that Brad Treliving would like to add to this Leafs roster.
As Seen on Leafsnation - The Toronto Maple Leafs should take a chance on Cal Foote
