In order to contend in the playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs recognized that they needed to strengthen their roster. Thus, the team's General Manager, Kyle Dubas, made the difficult decision to trade away one of their young star defenseman, Rasmus Sandin.
Ramus Sandin Returns To Leafs Nation
As part of the trade, Sandin was sent to the Washington Capitals in exchange for veteran defenseman Erik Gustaffsson and a first-round draft pick. However, despite the trade, the Capitals failed to make it to the playoffs this year.
Surprisingly, Sandin paid a visit to his former team, the Leafs. Sandin showed up at the Leafs practice to say what's up to his former teammates and and Sandin's own words:
"Pack up my sh#t"
We don't know if trading Sandin was a good decision right now, but with the Leafs in a win now mentality they felt this was a move they had to make.
