The Boston Bruins have recalled the 6'5" defenseman Mason Lohrei from the AHL after Andrew Peeke got injured in game two against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Last night's 3-2 win may have brought a lot of joy to the Leafs' fans, but for the Bruins, it was devastating.

Not only is the series now tied 1-1, they lost their defenseman Andrew Peeke to an injury.

Head coach Jim Montgomery stated in a press conference on Tuesday morning that Peeke won't travel with the team to Toronto for games three and four, as he deals with a week-to-week injury. He added that Derek Forbert will make the trip, but remains day-to-day.

"Today, #NHLBruins Jim Montgomery said defenseman Andrew Peeke is considered week-to-week with an injury. Derek Forbort will travel to Toronto with the team. Forbort remains day-to-day."

To replace him, the Bruins announced that they've recalled the 6'5" defenseman Mason Lohrei from Providence.

"BOSTON Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, April 23, that the team has recalled defenseman Mason Lohrei from Providence.

Lohrei, 23, has appeared in 41 games with Boston this season, recording four goals and nine assists for 13 points. The 6-foot-5, 211-pound blueliner has also skated in 21 games with Providence this season, totaling one goal and 15 assists for 16 points. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was originally selected by Boston in the second round (58th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft."
