Brad Treliving shares an update on contract negotiations for Bertuzzi and Domi
The Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving shared an update on the contract negotiations for Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi in a recent interview.
Brad Treliving and the other 31 general managers were in Buffalo for the NHL combine this week, which gave reporters many opportunities to ask questions about the teams' summer plans.
For the Leafs, while the Mitch Marner question has taken a prominent place in the discussions, there are other items on Treliving's to-do list, such as dealing with Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi, two players who will become free agents on July 1st.
When he was asked to reveal if he plans on offering them contract offers, he shared vague answers that only spread doubts about their future in Toronto.
He said that they'll have to reach a deal that works for the team and the player, because they have some issues to address on the roster, a limited salary cap, and must focus on getting his team to the next level:
"We've got a few guys who are up. And part of this is getting better, too. It's not just being the same. You're trying to get better in the process, as well. So we'll see."
