According to a recent soundbite from Craig Berube, he has made the consistent mistake of calling Max Domi by his father's name Tie. The topic came up after Craig Berube called Max Domi Tie during a press conference after the Detroit Red Wings game.
Of course, associating a Domi in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey with Tie Domi is a common occurrence. Tie Domi spent 777 games spanning over 12 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is one of the most iconic players in the recent history of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now his son Max Domi is looking to continue building the legacy of the Domi family name in Toronto.
Max Domi returns to Toronto for a second season looking to build his own legacy
When it comes to Max Domi he will always be following in the footsteps of his father Tie Domi. With the current iteration of the Maple Leafs, Max Domi has an opportunity to reach heights his father never did.
Though Tie Domi had a successful NHL career he was not ever an offensive presence for the Maple Leafs. In his best season, Tie Domi tallied 29 points. In one NHL season, Max Domi has already surpassed this career high with the Maple Leafs putting up 28 points last season.
Now with the 2024-25 season ahead, Max Domi has bigger goals ahead of him. Just days before becoming a free agent Max Domi agreed to a four-year extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs He will likely once again play in the top six but will be looking to help the Maple Leafs bring the Stanley Cup to Toronto that his family has been chasing for decades.
Max Domi is projected to play on a line this season with John Tavares and William Nylander. This likely will be the most discussed line on the roster to begin the season.
