A former Toronto Maple Leaf, who changed the way people felt about him during his time with the team, may have to retire early due to an injury.
In 2021, the Toronto Maple Leafs signed Josh Ho-Sang, a former first-round pick who had seemingly run out of options in the NHL due to his attitude and lack of performance in the big league.
Ho-Sang became a force for the Marlies of the AHL, putting up 35 points in 47 games and appearing very grateful and humble for the chance to play in Toronto after spending two seasons in Sweden.
While his stint with the Marlies didn't translate into a full-time NHL contract, it secured Ho-Sang a good deal in the KHL in Russia.
Unfortunately for Ho-Sang, things have not gone well in Russia, although it's not because of past problems.
Ho-Sang suffered an injury in his very first game in the KHL in 2022 and hasn't played since. Now, it appears he may have to retire.
No one has ever publicly stated what Ho-Sang was dealing with injury-wise. Whatever it is, it seems very serious. Ho-Sang was offered another contract with Salavat Ufa for 2023-24 but declined the offer.
