Former Maple Leaf Gets the Opportunity of a Lifetime with His New Team
The Toronto Maple Leafs did a mix of buying and selling on Tuesday.
One of the players they moved will get a massive opportunity on his new team:
Engvall Gets First Line Duties on Long Island
Pierre Engvall never made it out of the bottom-six in Toronto. He wasn't the style of player that fit in the dynamic top-six. He isn't a natural forechecker, but he was fine in the bottom-six.
Traded to the Islanders for a third-round pick, Engvall seems to be some sort of gem for management. They are throwing him right on the top line with captain Anders Lee and Bo Horvat.
He definitely fits New York's system better than Toronto's. The only question is, did the Maple Leafs make a mistake getting rid of him?
