With the Toronto Maple Leafs officially embarking on a new era with the hiring of Craig Berube there are many who believe Nick Robertson's time is coming to an end with the team.

Nick Robertson was selected in the 2nd round by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2019 NHL Draft. Since the draft there has been a lot of hope for his future with the team. However, several injuries later and an unclear spot for him to fill in the NHL has clouded that once-promising future. This season in 56 NHL games he had 27 points.

Nick Robertson rips one five-hole to put the Leafs up by two

He is a player who has shown he is too good for the AHL at this point but likely cannot crack the top six of a very talented Maple Leafs squad. Add in the fact that with Brad Treliving hiring Craig Berube anyone associated with Nick Robertson from the time he was drafted is now gone and his future with the Leafs looks bleak.

At just 22 years old Nick Robertson could likely fetch a good NHL roster player with more experience in a trade. With the Toronto Maple Leafs needing an upgrade on defense looking to teams in more of a rebuilding phase could net them a good player in return for Nick Robertson.

At the moment Nick Robertson is not on the trade block but talks are likely to happen if a team comes calling. If there are reports of a potential trade involving Nick Robertson throughout the offseason we will pass them along to you.
