The Toronto Maple Leafs have fallen to the Boston Bruins in a 4-2 game tonight in game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs round one at the ScotiaBank center. While the consensus answer is to be mad at the players, a Maple Leafs icon commentator has absolutely ripped into the fans present at the arena tonight for the Leafs first home game of the season.

In the aftermath of their humbling defeat to Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins, Leafs commentator Joe Bowen brought himself to twitter where he publicly shamed the Leafs fans in the arena for their "dead crowd", tonight at the Scotiabank Center.

The idea of going
To any sporting event
To support the home team is to
Be PRO ACTIVE!!!
Give the team energy when they need it Not sitting down waiting
To be REACTIVE. The players can't say it but I will tonight's crowd was VERY DISAPPOINTING

Fans immediately clapped back with a somewhat offensive response:

Joe. When you charge $600 for a lower bowl seat, the real fans aren't attending.
I have had season tickets for 8 years and can't afford my own seats in the playoffs. It's ridiculous.

It has been a recurrent complaint for Leafs fans. The prices have been way to expensive in the lower bowl where the most noice is made. Most people attending the lower bowl seats are corporate workers who have either been gifted tickets or just use the event as a night out. The prices have been flat out ridiculous.

The Leafs atmosphere just doesn't compare to that of Winnipeg, Montreal, Vegas or Carolina, and it may cause the Leafs to exist early.
