PK Subban is certainly one of the more abrasive media personalities in hockey. The former Norris trophy winner is a staple on the ESPN panel, but he isn't beloved by all.

On tonight's panel, he ruffled feathers with distasteful and inappropriate comments with co-hosts, NHL legend Mark Messier and Steve Levy.

In the midst of a conversation about the upcoming game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars, PK Subban began referencing his hammer, after he was prompted by Steve Levy to say the joke he was clearly holding back:

"I'm not a carpenter but I carry around a hammer"

If this wasn't weird enough, however, Steve Levy opted to punch up Subban's inappropriate comments:

"Yes, you do I have heard."

It's hard to imagine that PK Subban won't face some backlash for this odd and uncomfortable moment, prompted by Jack Eichel's game prep routine.

After a segment showing Jack Eichel cutting his stick with a saw, ESPN's studio show saw P.K. Subban say "I'm not a carpenter, but I do carry around a hammer," Steve Levy say "Yes, you do! So I've heard," and Mark Messier just look into the camera.

Do you think Subban took things too far, or was this just a joke that didn't go as well as he hoped?
