The Toronto Maple Leafs are still considering a trade of Mitch Marner, and they may have another suitor now in the form of the St. Louis Blues after an injury.

Over the past few months, there have been many teams linked to Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner, but to this point, there has been no reports of a concrete offer given to Toronto.

That may all change soon, as the injury to Torey Krug in St. Louis may open up just enough cap space for the team to become interested in acquiring the star winger.

Why Torey Krug being out indefinitely makes the Blues a legitimate player in the Mitch Marner sweepstakes

With Dallas, Colorado, Winnipeg and Nashville all pushing for a playoff spot in the Central, the Blues need to up their game if they wish to end their sudden playoff drought, and landing Mitch Marner may just be a way to do that.

During the report from The Leafs Nation, they proposed two intriguing deals to get Marner to St. Louis;

To STL: Mitch Marner
To TOR: Brayden Schenn, Alexey Toropchenko, 2025 3rd Round Pick, 2027 2nd Round Pick

To STL: Mitch Marner, Conor Timmins
To TOR: Justin Faulk, Brandon Saad, 2025 3rd Round Pick, 2026 2nd Round Pick

It's safe to say that neither of these trades will blow Toronto away, but if Marner expresses his desire to leave as a free agent in the summer of 2025, these would definitely be better than nothing.

Still there's plenty of time between now and next seasons trade deadline, and perhaps we will have a clearer idea of Marner's future in the coming months, but this is now certainly a team to keep a close eye on.
