The J.T. Miller sweepstakes are heating up and NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has a scoop on two new teams who have inserted themselves in the running.
It seems like each new day brings a new story and new caveat in the whole J.T. Miller situation. Having had a rivalry with teammate Elias Pettersson that's stretched back to last season, it's safe to say the tension in the Canucks locker room could be cut with a knife.
Miller wants to go one place, Petterrson doesn't care where he goes and might also be on the outs himself. It's a messy situation that couldn't get worse as Vancouver fights to stay alive in the Pacific.

The Dallas Stars And Carolina Hurricanes Newest Buyers For J.T. Miller
In addition to the New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils and Chicago Blackhawks as potential buyers for Miller, the emergence of both powerhouse teams makes an already tight playoff race even tighter.
If Dallas were to acquire Miller he would add another dimension to an already heavily skilled and offensively talented team and could be the factor in dethroning the Winnipeg Jets from atop the Central Division.
Having Wyatt Johnson, Matt Duchene, Miller, and Logan Stankoven as your four pivots is a nightmare scenario for playoff teams, and putting a perennial 30-goal scorer with great playmakers would make Dallas a very tough game every night.
Carolina could use his firepower to help solidify their spot for the playoffs in a Metropolitan Division that is wide open minus Washington's stanglehold on the Eastern Conference.
A quartet of Martin Necas, Miller, Seth Jarvis, and Jordan Staal would give the Hurricanes a perfect blend of veteran leadership and youth and perhaps give them the deepest lineup in the League.
Miller does have a no-movement clause in his contract so making a deal might be a bit tougher, not to mention his $8M cap hit for the next five seasons. A deal was supposedly done to ship him to his desired destination, the Rangers; but it fell through according to Friedman.
Whether a trade is made in the coming hours, days, or weeks, it will not be a matter of if Vancouver has had enough of him, but what is their breaking point to finally get a deal done.
This season Miller has eight goals and 23 assists in 35 games for the Canucks.
