Patrick Maroon sends Timothy Liljegren flying into the Bruins bench
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins kicked off their playoff series today. During the first period, Bruins tough guy pat Maroon made his presence felt when he hit Timothy Liljegren into the Bruins bench with a huge hit.
The play came about half way into the first period with the bruins up one. At this point in the game, both teams were still feeling each other out as they looked to establish their games early in the series.

The response from the hit was largely enthusiastic, especially from Bruins fans, who were excited to see their new tough guy establish himself as a physical threat early in the game.

So far, the Bruins depth has been the difference in the game with their fourth line scoring the series-opening goal with the Leafs' fourth line also on the ice. Maroon is a big part of that Bruins depth, proving himself to be useful both with and without the puck.
