Predators reportedly showing interest in Mitch Marner
NHL insider David Pagnotta believes the Nashville Predators have been in communication with Brad Treliving about a possible trade involving Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Mitch Marner.
The news comes from The Leafs Nation today, as they pass on the story from the Fourth Period, David Pagnotta's website. Pagnotta does not exactly have the best track record, but he often reveals information like this ahead of other insiders, so there may be some truth to it.

The question is though, what would a trade that sends Mitch Marner to the Predators even look like? Nashville was a retooling team this year that surprised many by making the playoffs. Does this mean that they are going to look to build on that next season, or will they hold steady and stick to the re-tool process?
One way the team could potentially improve would be to swap their star goaltender Juuse Saros for Mitch Marner. The Predators have one of the best goaltending prospects in the world in Yaroslav Askarov just waiting for a full-time NHL role. As such, it could make a lot of sense for the Predators to move on from Saros, while bringing in an elite talent up front at the same time.
