The Toronto Maple Leafs have some huge personnel decisions to make this summer, but according to a report, Brad Treliving has one free agent he wants to retain.

After a disappointing playoff performance, the Maple Leafs summer is going to be huge if they want to compete for a Stanley Cup in 2024-25, but it's not only potential trades the team have to weigh up. Toronto also have several key free agents to make decisions on, and while a report has emerged that Brad Treliving will let TJ Brodie walk into UFA, the same can't be said for Tyler Bertuzzi.

As #LeafsForever assess HC options, roster decisions could begin soon after a coach is hired. I'm told they've expressed interest in bringing back Tyler Bertuzzi. However, one player not likely back is TJ Brodie, who's expected to test the UFA market.

Bertuzzi played in 80 of the Leafs 82 games this season, tallying a solid 21 goals and 43 points while bringing the personality and the x-factor that this team needed. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to get them over the line against Boston, but with his talent and versatility, it's no shock that Toronto are interested in bringing him back.

With great stars up front, the team need this type of depth, so with the likes of Matthew Knies and Nick Robertson looking to step up and give the Leafs that youth, Bertuzzi would be the perfect depth play for Toronto, so we will see in the coming weeks if the interest is mutual.
