Today news has come out from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman suggesting that the Toronto Maple Leafs have narrowed down their choices to add to Craig Berube's staff.

After hiring Craig Berube as their head coach the Toronto Maple Leafs made several changes to the rest of their coaching staff. This included assistant coaches Guy Boucher, Dean Chynoweth and Manny Malhotra all expected to be let go.

The only assistant expected back is Mike Van Ryn who has a history of coaching alongside Craig Berube.

Happy for Craig Berube, gets reunited with Mike Van Ryn. Can assume Toronto is making a significant commitment both financially and in years. Country club days are over, hope Toronto players are ready, there's a new Chief in town. #Leafsforever

With three assistant head coaches on their way out this means replacements are needed. A new report from Elliotte Friedman has suggested that former Winnipeg Jets assistant Brad Lauer and former New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert are a pair of names to watch.

Some of the names that I have heard that have been kind of connected a bit to Toronto have been Brad Lauer who mutually left Winnipeg & I heard Lane Lambert's name out there too Toronto, knowing them, they're casting a wide net.

As of now the Toronto Maple Leafs have not made official moves with their coaching staff but announcements are expected in the coming days. Once the announcement is made we will pass all of the information along to you.
