As the Toronto Maple Leafs are set to play against the Vegas Golden Knights tonight they will be getting some reinforcements as Morgan Rielly returns to the lineup following his five-game suspension.

Keefe Addresses Rielly Suspension For The Final Time

Head coach Sheldon Keefe reiterated his thoughts on the suspension this morning, ahead of the contest. He emphasized the fact that Rielly's actions showed some pride in the team. He showed that he cares. Often times the Leafs core players have been criticized for not showing enough emotion on the ice.

"Morgan defended the pride of the group and the pride of the logo. In that moment, he shows you how much he cares about our team and what we are doing"

The coach seemed to credit Rielly for the reason the team has won their last five games. While the defenseman could not play in the contests himself, his actions helped rally the team as they collectively decided to step up for their teammate.

"We didn't love the fact that he was going to get held accountable....but he means so much to our team...You can see it in that moment. I thought it was a real wake-up call to our team to get real serious about winning, take care of games, and rally"

Toronto Maple Leafs Finally Finding Their Groove

It has not been the best season for the Leafs, but these recent events seemed to have sparked something within the team as Keefe pointed out. The team has been in the midst of a heated battle for third place in the Atlantic division, but they are starting to pull away from the competition thanks to their current five-game winning streak and their 8-2-0 record over their last ten games.

Game in 10: Auston Matthews, Bobby McMann keep piling up the goals as Maple Leafs extend winning streak to five in Arizona

The team is getting hot at the perfect time as the trade deadline is just over two weeks away. If the team continues to play this well, it could give Brad Treliving additional confidence to make some big moves.
