This NHL insider has just revealed that the Las Vegas Golden Knights are looking to reunite with one of their former fan-favourites ahead of the deadline.

Vegas Could Be Looking at A Reunion With Reilly Smith At the Deadline

The Las Vegas Golden Knights remain one of the league's best teams, sitting second in their division behind the Vancouver Canucks. However, if there is any hope at a repeat for the Stanley Cup, they will have to make some moves at the deadline.

Now, Frank Seravalli has suggested that the Knights are eyeing a potential reunion with fan favourite Reilly Smith. Smith parted ways with the Golden Knights this offseason in a trade with the Penguins.

#VGK are shopping for a winger. They were before Mark Stone's injury - and the team says he'll now be out «for a while,» which opens a whole new slate of possibilities.

Fans Upset With Vegas' Need For Another Winger and IR Games

Many fans were upset when it was announced that the Knights were placing Jach Eichel and Mark Stone on the Injured Reserve list in order to load up ahead of the trade deadline. They called on the League to investigate, as this is a pattern that has been repeated in the past.

Either way, it remains to be seen if the Knights are going to be heavy buyers at this year's deadline, or if they think they have all the pieces they need to make another push for the Cup.
