Sheldon Keefe reveals William Nylander's status for game 2
Sheldon Keefe, the Toronto Maple Leafs' head coach revealed William Nylander's status for game 2 against the Boston Bruins.
In his pre-game interview, the coach mentioned that Nylander will officially be a game-time decision.
"Sheldon Keefe leaves the door open to William Nylander potentially playing tonight: "We'll see how he feels here the rest of the day here and make a decision.""
Nylander took part of the Maple Leafs' morning skate, and Sheldon Keefe had a long discussion with him on the ice:
"Keefe checks in with Nylander ahead of skate"
The door is open, and the fact that it'll be a game-time decision could be a strategy to throw the Bruins off their game.
His presence won't change how the Bruins prepare for the matchup. However, he could be a difference-maker. Considering that the Leafs spreaded their offensive power over the first three lines at the end of the season, it could be a lot more difficult with him on the lineup.
Updates will follow.
