Domi Struggles To Stay Out Of The Box In Maple Leafs Win

Last night Max Domi found a new favorite home during the Maple Leafs game. With John Tavares out of the lineup due to injury, Domi was expected to step up. Unfortunately, constant penalties limited him to just 12 minutes of ice time.

Despite his limited ice time Domi still found ways to contribute tallying two assists. His efforts while frustrating at times helped the Maple Leafs get the win. After the game Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe commented on the game.

Sheldon Keefe Shares Surprising Thoughts On Domi

Most times when a player takes over 10 minutes in penalties a coach will be livid with the player's performance. However, surprisingly due to Domi's success when out of the box and ability to stick up for his team Keefe was singing a different tune.

"It was tough to get Max minutes tonight because he was in the box a lot, but I loved his effort and just his passion."

While Keefe acknowledges that the penalties hurt the ability to keep Domi on the ice he complimented his passion. The Maple Leafs will need to continue getting good performances from Domi especially if Tavares will continue to be out.
