The Maple Leafs are currently not in a good situation.

With the signings of Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, Ryan Reaves and John Klingberg, Toronto is $8 million over the salary cap.

And even with Jake Muzzin on LTIR, the club will still be $3.2 million over the salary cap ceiling.

Three Leafs Players Officially on Trading Block

There was a report indicating that Matt Murray's time in Toronto was coming to an end.

His big contract, and his lack of good performances, are the explanations to why Brad Treliving wants to get rid of him.

However, there's also two other players that could be moved by Toronto, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.

"T.J. Brodie's name is out there as well, he's got a 5 million dollar cap hit in the final year of his deal, he has some no-trade protection, he's out there as well. Nick Robertson is also a name that's floating around that could potentially be moved and maybe as a sweetener for somebody taking on Murray." - David Pagnotta

A Lot of Work Ahead for Treliving

The problem here is that Treliving isn't in the driver seat.

Teams will probably ask him for some good assets in order for them to acquire big contracts like the one's to Murray and Brodie.

T.J. Brodie is entering the final season of his 4-year contract signed with Toronto in 2020.
