After returning from an injury today to the Maple Leafs lineup Timothy Liljegren is facing yet another potential injury scare. This time his injury comes as a result of a hit from Detroit Red Wings forward Joe Veleno.

Just half way through the first period Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Timothy Liljegren is once again out with an injury. Timothy Liljegren was in a puck race with Joe Veleno when he was crushed into the boards.

Timothy Liljegren has gone down the tunnel after receiving this hit from Joe Veleno.

Timothy Liljegren's head as well as the rest of his body made a thunderous crash with the boards. Joe Veleno was assessed a two-minute minor for boarding on the play.

Liljegren is hurting following a hit from Veleno in the corner to Samsonov's left. There's a boarding penalty for the Red Wings. Liljegren heads to the Leafs room. [1st 8:07]

For many who witnessed the hit and injury both the loss of Timothy Liljegren and the lack of serious punishment for Joe Veleno are infuriating.

I am begging the rest of the NHL to stop injuring Timothy Liljegren in dirty fashions

Also how in the world is that not a major

As of now, there has not been an update provided on the status of Timothy Liljegren. Hopefully for his sake and the Maple Leafs playoff hopes the injury looks worse than it ends up being.

Once there are any updates on Timothy Liljegren's condition we will pass them along to you.
