T.J. Brodie replaces Leafs defenseman in line up for game 4
The Toronto Maple Leafs' defenseman T.J. Brodie is set to replace another Dman in the line up for game four against the Boston Bruins.
Leafs' head coach Sheldon Keefe made an interesting decision for the status of T.J. Brodie.
According to a new report, it looks like the veteran will finally get the chance of playing in a playoff game this year, after missing out on the first three games.
Jonas Siegel of The Athletic revealed that he'll replace Timothy Liljegren in the line up:
"It looks like TJ Brodie will replace Timothy Liljegren on the Leafs defence in Game 4.
Connor Dewar looks like the odd man out up front, assuming William Nylander returns to the lineup.
Nick Robertson keeps his spot from the looks of it." In yesterday's practice, Brodie skated alongide Edmundson on the third pair.
Yesterday, after the practice, Brodie commented on playing with Edmundson, the Leafs' trade deadline acquitision:
"He's solid back there. He's a big body, physical."
Sheldon Keefe made a big declaration about what Brodie can bring to the line up at this point of the series:
"Things can change really quickly come playoff time. But in Brodie's case, he played so much in the regular season, he's got so much experience in the league and in the playoffs it's important that he keeps his mindset right but it's tough for a guy like him for sure that's used to playing every day."
With William Nylander set to make his longly-awaited comeback, and Auston Matthews probably feeling better than he did on game three, as he dealt with an illness, the Leafs are in a great position to win game 4, to return to Boston with a 2-2 series.
More to come.
